The Bali Packing List We Actually Stand By
By Kiki Fahrina
Every version of a Bali packing list online reads the same, sunscreen, a few bikinis, something for the plane. None of it actually answers the real question, which is what to pack for Bali when you are spending seven straight days moving between beach, pool, market and dinner without doing laundry once. After years of dressing women for exactly that week, this is the edit we actually stand by.
Swim, But Fewer Than You Think
Most people overpack swim and underpack everything else. Two or three pieces is genuinely enough for a week, provided they can each do more than one job, a set structured enough for the pool, another with more texture for a beach day, and something in between for a boat trip or villa afternoon. There is no version of a week in Bali that actually requires more than that. Our crochet and knitting edit is where most of our regulars start, exactly the kind of resort wear Bali rewards, texture that reads as effortless in every photo without needing a single extra accessory to finish the look.
One Cover, Done Properly
A single considered cover up will outwork three mediocre ones, so this is not the place to economise. Look for something that moves easily from sand to lunch table without a change of clothes, our dresses and cover up edit leans into exactly the resort wear Bali afternoons call for, cut loose enough to layer over swim and finished enough to wear on its own after dark.

Linen, for the Days Off the Sand
Any proper Bali packing list needs at least one linen piece that has nothing to do with swim, a pair of pants or a loose top that survives the humidity without wrinkling into something unwearable by evening. It is one of the first things we tell anyone planning to pack for Bali properly, because it carries you through the parts of the trip that happen off the beach, dinner, a day of errands, the drive up to Ubud, and it belongs on the list before a single extra swimsuit does.

The One Bag That Does Everything
Skip the oversized structured tote, it never survives sand well and takes up half a suitcase for nothing. A crochet or raffia beach bag from our beach bags collection folds flat, holds its shape once packed, and doubles as your everyday bag for the entire trip, one less decision to make every time you pack for Bali.
The best way to pack for a trip like this is to bring fewer pieces that each do more.

The Short List
If you take nothing else from this, remember the shape of it, swim that works twice as hard, one proper cover up, one linen piece for the days off the sand, and a single bag built to survive all of it. That is genuinely the entire Bali packing list, built from resort wear Bali that earns its space in a carry on rather than pieces that only look good in the first three days.
The temptation with any trip this long is to pack for every possible version of yourself, the version who wants to dress up every night, the version who might do a sunrise hike, the version who suddenly needs a formal outfit for a surprise dinner. Resist it. The women who travel lightest through Bali and still look the most put together are the ones who trust a small, considered edit over a suitcase full of contingencies. Pack fewer pieces, choose ones that were actually built for this climate, and let the rest of the trip fill in around them.
